Lynne* is allergic to mushrooms. Please no sushi. It turns out that vitamin water drinks, as healthy as they can be in general, are not great for people with cancer as the antioxidants in them feed the cancer. As Lynne is diabetic, sugary drinks are also a no-no. All liquids naturally sweetened via fruits and veggies, and Manuka honey are fine. Lynne's situation is prone to changing as she gets deeper into her treatment, so if you have any questions or doubts about something please feel free to call Lola (818-515-6521) directly. When in doubt, gift cards are always welcomed!

Some of our favorite restaurants include: It’s all good house of kebab in Reseda - #2, 12 and #16 Anything from Carnival Restaurant - lentil soup, kebabs, hummus, salad and rice with pita bread are Ella’s favorites. Cheesecake Factory: Spaghetti & meatballs, Romano crusted chicken with Alfredo sauce instead of red sauce, Macaroni & cheese balls, Tex-Mex egg rolls, Avocado egg rolls, Sweet corn tamale cakes, Egg roll sampler, Thai lettuce wraps with chicken, Chicken Cesar salad, Harvest salad, Cobb salad, Quesadilla The Stand: Kids hot dog, fries, pickles on the side, Kids Mac & Cheese, Any of the salads and/or the Chicken Sandwiches Jersey Mike's: #8 or #13 for Lola (Mike's Way, pickles and pepper relish) and #7 for Ella (just tomato and pickles) Salsa & Beer: Carne Asada platter w/double rice, no beans OR Chicken burrito, no beans (Lola), Chicken quesadilla (Ella) Zankou Chicken: Whole roasted chicken, rice, hummus, pita, Chicken Tarna Plate, Tri-tip Shawerma Plate Anabargh: Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, Most Curries (Mild on everything please), Garlic Naan Corral Tree & Sweet Greens are great for salads and sandwiches. Fab Dogs for a plain grilled dog for Ella & a Fab Dog for Lola Ella loves pasta, nuggets and you can never go wrong with breakfast for dinner (pancakes and bacon are a favorite). She loves steak and prefers her burgers without cheese. Cheese in general is not her thing. Her palate is definitely open to trying new things and we'd love to make sure to get healthy stuff in whenever possible. Lola loves food. From soups to salads, sandwiches and patty melts, there is really nothing she won't try. Hot dogs are a favorite, too! Uncle Bernie’s, or any Jewish deli for Chicken noodle soup & rye bread & pickles. Starbucks, mocha, unsweetened green tea and juice, vanilla bean frap (no whip) Persian Food We eat all types of meat, and try to eat local/organic happy animal products when possible. Bonus points if there’s enough for lunch the next day. Thank you! Foods that can be easily frozen, like lasagna are a plus! Lynne's cancer and treatment means that her ability to eat solid foods will become increasingly more difficult. Especially by week 2 of treatment, nutrient dense soups, purees, juices and smoothies are going to be the only things she can consume. Here are some of the non-acidic fruits and veggies that should be used for soups and smoothies: spinach, kale, potatoes, avocado, carrots, beets, celery, cucumber, cabbage, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, plums, peaches, bananas. Nut butters, chia seeds, hemp seeds, coconut oil, maca powder, cacao/chocolate powder, powdered greens, and clean powdered proteins are also good additions. Juice Crafters & Kreation make great, healthy smoothies, FYI.

Least Favorite Meals

While we really love pizza, we would prefer to keep to having it only once a month. Lido's pizza is our favorite, and we like it simple with either just cheese or pepperoni. Please no fast foods (McD's, Burger King, Wendy's, Subway, etc.). Please, no sushi.
