It’s that time of year — time for our annual summer outing! Join us on picturesque Four Tree Island in Portsmouth for a vegan cookout. This will be a little different, as we are going back to a potluck! Our theme for this year’s event will be the impact of ocean plastic, ghost nets, and other marine debris on aquatic life. FOOD & DRINK NHARL will be providing vegan burgers, hot dogs, drinks, and some desserts. All vegan, of course! We ask that you bring your favorite vegan dish to share with the group. Please add a comment to the sign-up section indicating which dish you will bring, so we have a good variety. We recommend labeling utensils and pans. Please also include the number of people in your party. (Example- two adult and two children) We will also have a zero-waste drink station with water, lemonade, and iced tea. WHAT TO BRING Bring chairs or a blanket for you and your family. Shade is limited, so hats and sunscreen are recommended. ISLAND RULES Please remember that we have only reserved the pavilion area and must respect other guests visiting Four Tree Island. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed on Four Tree Island per city ordinance. PARKING Peirce Island is a popular destination for boaters and hikers, so parking can be a challenge. We suggest carpooling if possible. If you can't find a spot in the Four Tree Island lot, an unpaved overflow parking lot is available to anyone, located beyond the swimming pool on the right. It’s an 8-minute walk back to Four Tree Island, so maybe drop off any passengers and gear before parking. NHARL has reserved the space at Four Tree Island for the day, so come early and help set up, or stay late and enjoy the ocean. This is a free event, but donations to NHARL are welcome.
All food must be vegan.
