The ABCD Motel Supports Program and the ABCD Neighborhood Opportunity Center is having a large summer barbeque for the homeless families that reside in the hotels in the Allston/Brighton area. These families reside in a hotel room with their family members and do not have access to a kitchen to have a home cooked meal. Between our two hotels there are over 130 families and 350+ people. We had a Thanksgiving dinner in 2015 that was very successful.. We fed over 300 people and had over 90 people that cooked and donated food and various dishes. We are hoping to make this barbeque just as successful. Please note that we will be feeding a LARGE amount of people so even though the requested amount says 20 , please cook for as many people over that amount as possible. We could also use gift cards to the local supermarkets, Star, Stop & Shop or Trader Joe's for last minute items. Besides cooking food for this event, we could also use volunteers to help with prep, grilling , serving, and clean up. Please let me know if you wish to volunteer as well.
