Fishes N' Loaves Homeless Outreach. For this event, Orchard's Reach Out Community Missions Team will come alongside the Fishes N' Loaves Ministry and provide/serve a breakfast meal to those in need. While people are eating, the Fishes N' Loaves Ministry will be sharing the Gospel through a message. Participants for the event typically include: - low income families, - those who have lost their homes and currently living in their cars or tents, - senior citizens who are living on minimum income, - and those struggling to find work. Key event details to help you prepare for the event: - On the day of the event, we ask that all volunteers please wear either a Reach Out or Orchard T-Shirt/Hoodie to help the Lead Facilitator identify our team members volunteering. We also ask that each volunteer arrive by 8:45 at Lakeside Baptist Church to begin setting up. Once set up is complete, we will begin the event in prayer and transition into serving those in need from 9:00 am - 10:30 am. - Please note that this event will be held outdoors with no bathrooms, electricity, or sinks available. While there are no bathrooms, spouses and children are still welcome to attend the event and play at the small playground located next to where we will serve. - We ask that those who are able to bring prepared food items, please bring them warm and ready to serve and take home any empty containers used. Disposable food containers are recommended, however since volunteers will be serving their dishes during the event, volunteers may bring crockpots or other containers. Serving utensils will be provided, if needed. - Once everyone has been served, volunteers have the option to leave the event, visit with guests, or stay and help close out the event. - For those who bring items that require no heating such as plates, containers, cups, bowls, napkins and eating utensils can either drop off items on the day of the event or contact Ruby (Lead Facilitator) prior to the event to arrange pick up.
