About this Meal Train
VETERANS NEED YOUR HELP NOW!!!
On March 21st, I saw a post by Veteran advocate, John Murphy, about Veterans in Rockland County needing food and I thought creating a meal train would be a more organized way to help! The Maggie Conway House of Joseph's Home is one of the locations, situated in Orangeburg, NY and currently houses 20 otherwise-homeless in a group setting. We have averaged the meals to cost around $120-$160 a day to provide the men with a healthy, prepared dinner.
So want to help? Look at the dates available and secure the night on here, call the place to order and pay the restaurant directly. Way to go, you have done a great deed! However, if you feel you can not afford the whole bill, we get it, you can donate to the general pool and I will arrange for a meal to be delivered. Think of all they sacrificed for us, we ask that you help them in their time of need. (Every dime will be accounted for on here, I am a bookkeeper.)
This meal train is up for the duration of the Coronavirus impact. Their access out is quite limited right now. If you have any questions please contact Kelly Kohlbrenner, Housing Manager, @ 845-608-3467.
Originally, John Murphy contacted Del Art'e restaurant in Orangeburg, NY and asked them to help out by offering the meals at cost, they have been amazing, but it should not just be on them. Several generous donors have been amazing as well with paying for the meals to date!
If you are a restaurant owner and are willing to prepare meals at cost, please reach out to me and I will add you to our list. Any questions about this meal train, or issues with filling it out, please email me at taraApayne@gmail.com.
