About this Meal Train

Thank you for your interest in serving food to our inner city teens in Garfield at our weekly youth group night called, "Breakout." It starts at 6:30pm, but our space is open at 5:45pm for you to set up and get ready to serve the food. We call our youth center "The Urban Underground." Our Garfield Vagabond Missions site has recently moved to the old St. Raphael preschool building in front of the school in Morningside. There is parking in front of the school building. We are so grateful for Fr. Mele and the St. Raphael/Morningside community for welcoming us in and lending us the space. Address of the building we are in: 1154 Chislett St, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 We will have drinks, plates, napkins, and plasticware for the meal. We don't have an oven or kitchen facilities. We will also have ziploc bags and aluminum foil to help wrap leftovers that can be given away at the end of the night. Desserts are a huge plus but not necessary. You can arrive anytime after 5:45pm to get set up and we usually serve food till 7pm when we start the night with some games. You are welcome to stay for as much of the night as you want. These nights are outreach nights - our missionaries are intentionally seeking out those who are unchurched. Thanks for being the face and hands of Christ by helping us feed these teens. Don't be offended if some of the kids don't care for a particular food or recipe - there can sometimes be great cultural differences in what they are used to eating. Foods our teens will eat: Chicken Tenders/Nuggets with Sauces (BBQ, Hot Sauce, Ranch etc) Pizza Burgers & hot dogs (there's a grill available to use at the church if needed) Tacos Pulled Pork or BBQ with Sauce Breakfast for Dinner Fried chicken Wings Buffalo Chicken Dip Fruit trays Philly Cheesesteaks The teens we work with generally don't eat pasta, chili, salad, cold sandwiches
