New Meal Opportunity!

Posted Oct 12, 2020 by Kara Kimble of RMHC Pittsburgh & Morgantown, Inc.

Due to COVID-19, we have had to temporarily suspend our in-house Meals from the Heart Program, but the need for meals still exists! Rapid Meals, Home Cooked is an extension to our Meals from the Heart Program at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh and Morgantown. This program is especially helpful in the current unprecedented times of COVID-19. Individuals and/or Groups can still be involved with our Meal Program through Rapid Meals, Home Cooked. Through this extension, a home cooked meal can be quickly prepared for our families and help ease their burden of worrying about their next meal and allow them to spend more time at their child’s bedside. How Does it Work? • Groups or individuals can prepare ingredient bags with recipes for 30 minute (or crock pot) meals. • Meals will be prepared by staff. • Ingredient bags must contain new items in original packaging. • Please include recipe with the ingredients. How To Sign Up: • Email Kara Kimble, House Manager, at kara@rmhcpgh-mgtn.org • Ingredients must be dropped off in a box or bag to promote non-contact delivery. • As a reminder, no food can be prepared at home. COVID-19 UPDATE

Posted Mar 12, 2020 by Kara Kimble of RMHC Pittsburgh & Morgantown, Inc.

Dear Meals from the Heart Volunteers and all RMH activity volunteers, Thank you for your patience as Ronald McDonald House Morgantown has been making protocol updates and developments considering the coronavirus pandemic. Because of our families already compromised immune systems and the volunteers and families’ safety and health being of our utmost priority, beginning Monday, March 16th all Meals from the Heart Program meals will need to be rescheduled or cancelled until further notice. Meals scheduled before March 16th will move forward as planned. We apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your time and continued dedication in serving our families. Regarding meal cancellations, we understand your wish to feed our families while they are staying with us and far away from their homes. You are more than welcome to donate gift cards to any grocery store, gift cards to restaurants, or schedule a catered meal to be dropped off in lieu of the scheduled meal. Feel free to contact Kara for more information. If you still wish to get involved and make a difference in our families’ lives during this time, we are continuing to accept in-kind donations such as house wish list items and welcome bags. Food related welcome bags and donations such as store-bought instant meals, microwavable meals and canned goods are very much appreciated. Please note all donations will be required to be dropped off in the main entrance doorways. Should anything change, please look out for additional correspondence as we continue to monitor developments regarding the coronavirus. As always, we appreciate your efforts in volunteering at Ronald McDonald House Morgantown.
