Asher is home!

Posted Nov 12, 2020 by Karen Marston

Thank you for signing up to deliver meals for Judy and Simon. The wonderful news is that Asher is home! This means that it would really help the family if we could provide a meal for all of them. I have individually emailed those who are signed up from tomorrow until Tuesday to explain the changes and find out whether they are able to adjust their meal. Judy's mum Diana will be with the family until Monday so until then if possible we are aiming to provide a meal for four adults (Judy, Simon, Sophie and Diana, Judy's mum) and two children (Asher and Evangeline), if possible taking into account that Diana is vegetarian. I am going to add more dates to the calendar so we can continue supporting the family as he recovers. Karen x

More dates added

Asher is back in hospital with an infection after only a few days at home so I have added another week to the calendar. No need to volunteer if you already have for this week and no pressure if you are busy. Karen x

More Meals for the Mays

Posted Oct 9, 2019 by Karen Marston

Dear cooks, Di (Judy's mum) asked if I could organise meals for the Mays for a couple of days as Asher has had to go back into hospital due to problems with his catheter after having an operation a couple of weeks ago and then catching Norovirus which he passed on to other members of the family. Knowing how willing you all are I said we should do at least a week - we don't know how long he will be in for but this is a way that we can provide them with some respite. Please don't feel obliged if this isn't a good time for you, there are so many people that I am sure the rota will fill up fast. If it looks like it would be helpful I will add more dates on. Thank you, Karen

May Meal Train restarted

Posted Jan 8, 2019 by Karen Marston

Dear wonderful cooks and supporters of the May family, You may be aware that Asher is in hospital due to severe abdominal pain and undergoing tests to establish what treatment he needs, so meals are a way that we can support the family as they go through another difficult time. Don't feel you have to cook again just because you have before, this is just to let you know in case you would like to. Thank you, Karen

Asher and Judy are home!

Posted Sep 29, 2018 by Karen Marston

Asher, Judy and Evangeline came home yesterday which is great news! This means we now need to cater for 4 adults and also 1 child as Asher is enjoying eating, also great news! The other change is that fish is off the menu as Judy doesn’t like it. Thank you so much for supporting them in this way. Karen x

Baby arrival meals!

Posted Jun 5, 2018 by Karen Marston

Following the safe and healthy arrival of the lovely Evangeline Rose in the May household, it would be great to provide some meals for them as they get used to being a family of 6 and manage those sleepless nights as well as Asher's ongoing care and dialysis. This is a seasoned band of meal providers I know so I already know it is going to be a brilliant help. I have done 2 weeks for now but it can be extended. Thank you! Love Karen x

Pausing Meal Train

Posted Mar 14, 2018 by Karen Marston

Dear wonderful cooks, The Mays are so blessed by all the meals you have been bringing, and will be again in future. For now they have asked me to pause the meal rota for two reasons: Until they have got into a routine with Asher’s dialysis they don’t know what will work best logistically Thanks to you all they have a freezer full of food so will be fed for a while and don’t want any food to go to waste. If you have signed up from Saturday onwards I am going to cancel those dates and put in some new ones when we know what will work best. There will definitely be more help needed in future and I will let you know when that is - better to save it for when it will really make a difference. Karen x

Posted Mar 12, 2018 by Karen Marston

Dear lovely cooks for the Mays, I have now added all Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until the end of June to the rota as these are Asher's dialysis days. We may add in more in June with the arrival of new baby May. Thank you and feel free to pass this on to anyone who might like to help. Karen x

Number to cook for

Posted Feb 13, 2018 by Karen Marston

Hi lovely cooks, I realised that although I thought I had put down 2 children as well as 2 adults it only said 2 adults. So those of you who haven’t cooked yet please could you cook for the whole family? Sorry my error! Those who have already cooked ignore this, it’s just the easiest way to contact people. Karen x
