Shelter is temporarily Closed

Hello friends, until we find additional staff and can lock down more volunteers we are sadly forced to combine shelters with the Oakdale facility.
We are hoping to be up and running soon.
Thank you all for all you do!
News at Hugo Shelter

We are coming out of this Covid time with new excitement and heart for helping those without shelter.
There are more families calling and we expect that as the eviction moratorium ends we will see an uptick.
So what's new?
First: We have decided to continue the meal donations. We have heard that it involves a group of people who would otherwise not be involved
Second: We are opening up overnight volunteering as your congregation coordinator may have told you. (If you are not part of a congregation and want to volunteer overnight, contact Debbie at St. Andrew's for background checks and more information. 651-762-9148)
Third: We are offering two options for Dinner drop-off.
1- drop off dinner as you have been doing
2- Stay and serve dinner to our families. (This involves getting a tour of the shelter if you haven't had one, and hearing about the entire program, as well as getting to know some of our families)
Thank you for your service,
Now Needing Meals on Wednesdays

We are using Sunday only as a leftover day. We now need meals on Wednesdays too.

We have 2 families here right now. A mom with a 12-year-old son, and a mom with a 10-year-old daughter. Here are some details:
We can always use individual cereals
ALWAYS check on the Sunday slot, it tells you if the week is open to the community or if a church or community group has claimed that week
Having said that. . . I see some empty spaces coming up and you can always bring a meal even if it is open
Fruit, Beef Sticks, Cheese sticks, Gold fish...all great snacks
Breakfast bears still appreciated

Our latest family has moved into housing so the shelter are without families for the time being. We have LOVED having all of your delicious meals, and I will let you know when we welcome a new family into the program. Often times friends and families are generous with their space through the holidays and then ask their "guests" to leave after Christmas, so don't be surprised if it is a few weeks before we have someone in the program again.
Left over Wednesdays!

Hello team mates,
I have pulled Wednesdays out of the meal rotation. We need one day at the shelter to eat and clean up some leftovers from all these amazing meals!
