Tom helped me brew my first commercial beer at Thomas Creek. I was leading a group of home brewers at Clemson University and Nicks Tavern wanted to make a beer for their bar. They reached out to Tom and I to collaborate on Nick’s Vanilla Porter. In those hours that I spent at the brewery that day, I learned so much from Tom about beer, business, and comradery. He will forever be remembered as a titan of SC craft beer and a great friend.
