One Week Update

Posted Apr 2, 2022 by Sue Kerr

Dear friends, Thank you. We've received so many delicious meals already. I'm making a concerted effort to honor your generosity by eating several small meals even when that seems hard or overwhelming. Unfortunately, I overdid it, lost some ground, but have rebounded. I also learned this week that I finally secured an intake appointment with the UPMC autoimmune clinic. It's the last day of April, but that's sooner than I expected. It's really good news. Just gotta hang tight through April. So you also brought me progress in finding answers to my illness. If we can get through to the end of the month, hopefully things will look brighter. I'm intentionally not posting pics of the meals b/c I'm confident I'd forget someone or get details wrong. But it's been delicious so far and a chance to try all sorts of new things. And not fear the spices! I have attached a photo of the cupcakes my nephew made from scratch to contribute to this effort - he's 10. And a damn fine baker. Yinz are good people. I feel better about coping with all of this uncertainty and whatever lies ahead. The power of the casserole to heal is pretty mighty. Freeing up some time each day to attend to other things and still eating well is an amazing support. The meals, while delicious, are secondary to the love, comfort, and kindness of those who prepare them. I won't rattle on and on, but I want you to know that I don't take your efforts for granted. Hello everyone. I just sent a little update to be posted. But I wanted to specifically ask you about your containers. If you'd like them returned, please just send me a little note. Thank you so much for being good neighbors to us. Sue
