On Friday October 9th, Mandeville House Assisted Living tragically caught on fire and was destroyed. While everyone safely evacuated, all 8 residents and 3 staff have been displaced. Month-long supplies of food and groceries were all lost, not to mention medication and personal possessions. Mandeville has been owned and operated by Mavis Payne, who dedicated the last two decades of her life toward the care of senior citizens in Southern Maryland. Currently, the residents are staying at a temporary home in Eutaw Forest. I am one of Mavis' daughters, and with the amazing help of our friends, we've created this Mealtrain to help smoothen the transition as Mandeville House rebuilds and replenishes the livelihoods of their residents.
