Please provide a hearty, nutritious, comforting meal that includes a good source of protein, vegetables, sides and dessert when providing dinner. If bringing soup, please add a salad and dessert. This may be the only meal they have had that day so we would like to ensure they go to bed with a full belly.

Favorite Meals or Restaurants

As a very general rule the warming center is open when the forecast is 27 degrees or below. Please watch for our posts on Facebook and your email. If you prefer a text or phone call please give us your number when signing up. Please prepare a hot, filling and nutritious meal to include a protein, vegetables, sides and dessert. We would like for you to stay to assist in serving and clean up. There would be someone familiar with the church kitchen to greet you and assist you. Please have food at the church no later than 5:30 am for breakfast and 6:30 pm for dinner and plan to be there about 2 hours. If staying to help prevents you from cooking for the warming center, please reach out to us so we can make other arrangements to serve and clean up. Feel free to gather your friends to assist you! Teamwork makes the dreamwork! Paper plates, bowls, napkins, silverware, etc. will be provided by the warming center. Also, water, lemonade, coffee and hot chocolate are provided. Please do not sign up to bring and serve a meal on a shift where you are also a warming center volunteer. The duties are very different so it is very difficult to overlap them and we need all hands on deck in the mornings.

Least Favorite Meals

Please try to stay away from any meals that are too spicy, but please season the food as you would for yourself with salt & pepper, etc. and be mindful of anything that may be too hard, such as nuts, since some of our clients have dental issues.

Please enter the church through the kitchen doorway located on Cordelia Ave. This is the door where there is a portable awning covering a Boy Scout trailer. The door may be locked, so you may need to knock. If you need to cancel or have any questions or issues, please reach out to Nancy Huckstep at 573-979-4162. Text is usually best.
