Meal Train for

Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist at St. Michaels Catholic School in Lees Summit

About this Meal Train

IF THERE IS A DATE YOU WANT TO BRING A MEAL that isn't selected please let me know, I can adjust the dates very easily. In August 2107 a convent was established in KC metro area for the Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist as they began teaching at the new high school St Michael the Archangel High School in Lees Summit, MO. The four sisters Sr. Miriam, Sister Stephen Patrick, Sister Mary Andre and Sister Mary Cecilia moved here from their motherhouse in Ann Arbor Michigan. They work tirelessly teaching and ministering to their students and staff . Since they are a Dominicans order, which is a monastic order, the sisters need to spend many hours in daily prayer outside of their day at school. At the end of the their school days the sisters do not have much time to do grocery shopping, and meal preparation. It would be a blessing to them to have help once a week with dinner. So I was led to create this meal train for them. It's a wonderful opportunity for us to minister to these beautiful sisters and show them our appreciation. We are very blessed to have this convent in our community. Sr. Miriam said if their convent location off Noland Road is closer for dinner drop off, we can arrange for a cooler to be out on the porch, drop off there could be from 2:30 to 4:45. They eat dinner at 5:00 pm. If the food is left at school, they will have time to reheat it if needed. For drop off at the school, Katie is the contact person. She will put the food in the refrigerator for the sisters, so you could drop off any time the assigned day at the school. But please no later than 3:45pm. The sisters do not have time to visit, their schedule is so tight that although they'd like to visit that simply is not possible when meals are being dropped off at school or at the convent. Thank you for understanding. You can be assured they will appreciate any meals and enjoy anything you make for them. They do not eat meat on Fridays. Please do not hesitate to call me or text me with questions. Please do not call the school for the sisters, they cannot take phone calls. Katie at the school can answer questions too, but this is a new process so she may not be familiar with the details like I am right now. As it gets up and running Katie will know more. Thank you for you time and consideration. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for me, I'm open to all suggestions. God bless and thank you, Valerie Bell
