DOUG AND THE GIRLS NEED YOUR HELP!!

Posted Mar 15, 2021 by Darlene Vittori

Hello Everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. We want to thank everyone for all of their support and kindness!! Doug and the kids feel every gesture big and small. Doug's resilience continues to amaze us. So many of you have said if Doug or the girls need anything, all they have to do is ask. So they are asking. Doug is taking the girls on a mini vacation to get away over April vacation. A wonderful gift after a long difficult winter. They need some help caring for the amazing dogs while they are gone. Sara Stalnaker has agreed to organize the schedule of volunteers. She has created a sign up google doc attached here. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0D4BAEA82CA1FC1-schmidt If you can help in any way, please sign up or contact Sara directly at 401-261-1370 Thank you so much again for always being so supportive and stepping up. Have a wonderful evening!

Beautiful Maria’s Obituary

Posted Jan 21, 2021 by Darlene Vittori

Maria Delourdes Salomao- Schmidt, 53, of Holliston, passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, she was the daughter of Maria Raquel (Cerveira) and Claudinor Salomao. She was the wife of 17 years to Douglas Schmidt of Holliston. Maria had a very eclectic life. She lived many lives within this one, including entrepreneur, Reiki healer, life coach, real estate broker, author, world traveler, wife and mom. She started, “I’m Holliston Happy”, a facebook page for her local community, and volunteered to help many of those in need everywhere. Maria loved all animals and had four rescue dogs. She reached her lifelong goal of being on the Oprah show, when she and her family were featured on Oprah’s last episode. Her gift was her unique humor, intuition and ability to help ignite her clients’ life purpose. Maria treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. One of her very favorite things in the whole world was to dance around the kitchen with Doug and their children. Besides her husband, Maria leaves behind four children, Mialotta, Olivia, Isabella and Christopher. She also leaves behind her siblings, Joao, Pedro, Claud, Julia, Jeffrey and Mark, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter, Sophia. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23rd from 12:00-5:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com There will be a virtual service on January 30th at 11:00 am. Important update regarding the beautiful Mariaaaaaaa

Posted Jan 19, 2021 by Darlene Vittori

Good evening everyone. I am updating you all with a heavy heart. Maria has had a rapid decline over the weekend and has began to require steady doses of morphine to manage her pain. Her agitation and pain have escalated as she has become more aware of her end of life status. 😥 Maria tried to get on Facebook today to send messages to friends but was just too weak and uncomfortable to follow through. She asked me to pass on this message. She wants all her beloved friends to know “you are all loved and cherished and soooooo special!” She wanted to thank you all for your gift of friendship 💋😘 “MWAHHH!!!! “ She is still eating small amounts and drinking water and she still has her sense of humor, enough to give me the finger when I spilled water on her trying to help her drink today! 😜 We are asking for prayers 🙏🏻🙏🏻 to help her find peace and comfort over the next few days. The family has asked to limit visitors as they help her transition to a peaceful, restful, painless state as well as spend this valuable time with her. We will keep you posted as the days go on. Thoughts and prayers go out to Maria, Doug, Mia, Olivia, Bella, and the rest of the family. ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻 Bless you all! ❤️

Posted Jan 16, 2021 by Darlene Vittori

Hello Again! Just wanted to drop a quick update. Doug continues to get stronger and healthier everyday. He can now do his physical therapy exercises without oxygen! Go Super Doug! 🦸 Maria has been slowly struggling more and more. The mental game with anxiety, breathing, sleeping and restlessness has become a regular daily struggle. She is struggling to get restful sleep and thus unsettled and uncomfortable at times. We are continuing to work with her to find the right balance of medications and holistic remedies to keep her comfortable. Some days she’s up and about while other days she is in bed most of the day. Please keep those loving warm thoughts and prayers coming their way! ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

Happy Monday!

Posted Jan 12, 2021 by Darlene Vittori

Hello!!! After Doug’s appearance as Holliston’s newest super hero, he has been back to work and doing his thing. He is slowly reducing his need for oxygen and getting out for walks everyday! 🚶‍♂️🦸 Maria has been struggling more lately. She is having more pain intermittently and more swelling of her left arm and legs due to fluid build up, otherwise known as lymphedema. She has been struggling with feeling short of breath and having issues with being able to take a deep breath. She is working with an herbalist locally to reduce the lymphedema and improve her symptoms. Fingers crossed 🤞 She continues to get great satisfaction and purpose coaching and supporting friends and family! Here is a picture that captures her smile energy and beauty! ❤️❤️ Talk soon!

HE BEAT COVID! And if that does not make him a super hero I don’t know what does!!! Make sure to look for SUPER DOUG around town!!!! Have a great evening! Be back soon!

DOUG is currently intubated in the ICU but is stable. Today his nurse states he is doing well. The girls and Christopher are amazing! Maria has been so overwhelmed with the love and visits and yummy food! Thank you all for your kindness!!
