Bridger and I arrived home early Sunday morning. There was nothing better than our own beds and being hugged by family. Thank you to everyone who brought in meals last week and supported our family. WE ARE SO VERY GRATEFUL! Several of you have reached out and said you would still like to serve our family and bring your meal. WOW! We really do have the best of friends! While meals are no longer necessary, they are a blessing to our family, and we are very very grateful. If you do plan on bringing your meal, can you please message me so that I can plan appropriately. Again, not expected but very much appreciated! I'll be posting more about our experience at CHOP and what's next for Bridger on our blog here over the next few days. But in the meantime, we just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who provided a meal and donated. We have felt God's love through your service to our family. ~ Bridget

A Huge Thank You and We are Coming Home Early

Posted Aug 5, 2022 by Bridget Barrus

This experience has been an interesting one to say the least. We have received some good news and we have received some not-great news since we have been at CHOP. First, we want to say THANK YOU to all of you -- the meals, the prayers, and the donations are so very appreciated and we can't wait to hug you all in person and say thank you. Second, we are coming home much earlier than expected and will be home early Sunday morning. They have been able to rule out an insulinoma in his pancreas which is great news. No surgery! However, they do not know why he is having blood sugar issues and so we get to go back to the drawing board with our care team in Idaho to figure some things out. We are so grateful and a bit discouraged all at the same time which is a bit of a dichotomy. For now, we are trusting Him and praying for answers to come. And, of course, looking forward to this 48-hour fast to be over and Bridger can eat. Lastly, for those that have been so gracious and brought meals and donated -- THANK YOU. My kids and husband have been spoiled! For those planning on bringing meals past Monday, we appreciate your willingness to serve our family but I will be back home and able to jump back into the craziness of life. We love and appreciate you!
