About this Meal Train
Hey friends! It is under unfortunate circumstances that I have created this MealTrain. Dad’s cancer is back 😔 and as much as he hates to ask for it (he never would on his own and isn’t very pleased with me for doing this), my parents are probably going to need some help in the coming months.
To respect Dad’s privacy I don’t want to go into great detail, but our jolly ol’ jokester starts chemo March 8 and is slated to have a treatment “cycle” every three weeks. As with any chemo, we don’t quite know what to expect and how Dad will feel. And as I’m sure you all know, Mom doesn’t drive, so trips to the grocery store are going to be difficult. Even though they have help in town (you know who you are 😘)this delivery of home cooked meals will be greatly appreciated.
Please note that the delivery times might change as they are completely unaware of what the treatment will bring for Papa Kelly. He might feel great, but he might feel not so great. And this will determine a lot of things. So please keep an eye out for changes.
That being said, Dad will pretty much each anything…well, except coconut (he says he’s allergic but we’re not really sure😉) and asparagus. He loves spaghetti, that’s his favorite, but Mom probably prefers it with ground turkey instead of hamburger. They eat a lot of fruits (they have a banana together every night while sitting on the couch with their kitty purring in between), lots of veggies and they both love pasta. Dad certainly loves his bakery too.
If making meals is your jam and you love to cook, they’d love to eat it. But if you want to help in a different way, gift cards are always welcome and very much appreciated : Trigs, Walmart, etc. Anything that will help them get some groceries in the house. It’s just the two of them and they don’t eat a lot, so anytbing that can be frozen is helpful. Groceries are good too because mom likes to cook.
Dad also loves crossword puzzles…just gonna throw that out there.
Thank you all in advance. You know how to reach me if you have questions.
