Special Instructions
Hello and thank you for volunteering! If this is your first time to make a meal, please email Linda@newbeginningsnwa.org to set up an orientation! We now have approximately 30 people to serve including the new Medical Respite Folks! 1)You may either choose to make the meal at your location and deliver by 4-5:15. or 2)Come in before 3-4pm and cook on-site using your ingredients, and available pantry items or our purchased ingredients. Please email the recipe and ingredient list(if you need) a week in advance to Linda@NewBeginningsNWA.org . If you have any questions, feel free to email me. You can come cook as early as needed, but dinner is usually served around 5:00! We have pots, pans, serving ware, and spices, etc for those cooking on-site. You are also welcome to use any fresh veggies/frozen veggies from our garden that are in season, just ask! We also ask when Volunteers serve food that a proper head-covering such visor or baseball hat be worn. We have visors. Hand washing station and gloves are provided. Some meal suggestions from the Residents include: Lazagna, Fajitas, Turkey Chili, Chicken and Dumplings, Casseroles, Beef Stew, and Fried Chicken...etc Some ingredient considerations would be many people could have dental issues and therefore foods that are harder could be hard to eat, such as harder fruits and croutons, etc..
