Drop-Off Time

Special Instructions
Please bring food that both adults and children can enjoy. It is also great to bring activities for the kids ... we hope all who come will stay for a while and enjoy the magic that has been created on the corner! You'll be able to see the school/camp, the garden, and so much more. Wait until you see how the corner has been transformed! We now have shade and air conditioned spaces, a portable bathroom with a sink, a full size fridge to store food, and access to water. What to bring: One option is food to grill, sides, desserts, paper goods, condiments, etc. Other food works too (think pizza, pasta, sandwiches, wraps etc - just can't keep things warm or cook them other than on the grill ) Activities/enrichment for kids of all ages (organized and informal - we welcome any and all talents and entertainment) Here's how it works: kids are in camp until 3:00, and when it's over, they are hungry! That's when the meal is served ... for families of campers, and anyone in the community. From 3:00-5:00 kids that are in other summer programs earlier in the day, or summer school, come by to hang out. Please drop off the food between 12 and 1, so that it can be prepared in time. Younger kids are also in programming starting at 12, so volunteers are welcome and encouraged to help with activities and entertainment before the meal is served. Anything extra will be given to hungry adults, including parents picking up their kids. There are many ways to support MASK in addition to supplying food... ideas are welcome, but one need is to help with our garden, the "Power of the Flower" Peace Landscape. We have the garden dug up, but this year there are only a few shrubs and small trees to plant. There is plenty of space to plant other things, and plenty of kids who would love to work with volunteers to get them in the ground. The idea is to just have fun! Spread experiences, love, and knowledge ... we all need that more than ever right now. Questions? Ideas about how to help or what to donate? Feel free to text Michelle Cutler at 224-361-6506.

Favorite Meals or Restaurants
One option is food to grill (burgers and hot dogs with buns) sides (chips), desserts, bottled water or juice boxes, paper goods, condiments, etc. Other food works too (think pizza, pasta, sandwiches, wraps etc - just can't keep things warm or cook them other than on the grill ) Snacks are also helpful (like granola bars), as well as special treats like fresh fruit, cookies, cold treats (we have freezers), and other desserts. We can also use supplies such as paper goods, charcoal, and clorox wipes. Activities/enrichment for kids of all ages (organized and informal - we welcome any and all talents and entertainment)
Least Favorite Meals
We are not able to cook things on site (other than on the grill), or keep things warm . please avoid bringing frozen items because these are difficult to grill. We DO have refrigerators and freezers to keep items cool and for future use
