Meals with more protein and vegetables are especially appreciated. • Meatloaf is a great option — one meatloaf can easily provide two meals. It pairs well with sweet potatoes or another vegetable. • Chicken dishes are always welcome, such as chicken and rice casserole with a vegetable or salad on the side. They especially enjoy a good salad! • Beef meals are also a favorite. A classic crockpot meal with beef, potatoes, carrots, and celery is a comforting option they enjoy. • Breakfast for supper is another great idea, such as an egg casserole with eggs, onions, ham, and vegetables. • Soup is always appreciated and enjoyed year-round. • Deacon Don especially loves baked beans and chocolate chip cookies! 😊 For anyone wishing to bring dessert, lower-sugar options are wonderful, such as berries with sugar-free jello or low-sugar whipped cream. If bringing a traditional dessert like cookies, cake, or pie, a smaller portion is appreciated (for example, 6 cookies or a couple pieces of pie).
