Hello! I wanted to update everyone on Scott's progress. He has been at St. Charles Rehab Center getting stronger on his left side. He is walking slowly and needs a cane and a brace on his foot. He has made great progress and will be home Friday 31st. The boys and I are very excited to have him home and start the new year. Again, I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to everyone that has made meals for us, prayed for us, texted us and checked in on us. Our community has made such a difference in our difficult journey and we will continue to fight hard. Happy New Year to all and be well. Love, The Leslies (Scott, Erica, Colin and Caden)

Good evening all. I wanted to update our community, families and friends on Scott's progress. He had a 2nd craniotomy on Tuesday and his neurosurgeon, Dr. John Boockvar removed about 99% of the tumor. This is a more positive outcome than his 1st surgery because it will open the doors for better treatment and clinical trials. He is still in NYC at Lenox Hill hospital and continues to get stronger. He does have some left sided weakness and will need physical therapy before he can return home. It is my hope that he will be in rehab early this week. We continue to be in awe of the generosity from our community, friends, strangers and loved ones. Your support and love fuels us to fight hard and I know that Scott is so grateful. With the holidays approaching, please take the time to enjoy your families and friends. Play a game or watch a movie together. These are simple things that we miss so much as a family. I will update everyone as we continue to navigate this extremely difficult time in our lives. Again, thank you so much. With much love, The Leslie's Scott, Erica, Colin and Caden

12-5 update from Scott

Posted Dec 5, 2021 by Erica Leslie

Just an update : Thank you all for the support, meals, DMs , texts etc. Means a lot during this time to know people are supporting us even if we cannot get back to or thank everyone personally. I stopped( for now) the chemo and radiation Friday. I am being admitted to Lenox Hill Hospital Monday and having another surgery Tuesday. There are no complications immediate emergency ( actually i feel quite good other than my left leg issues and medications side effects i always complain about etc but I was very fortunate to have an appointment Friday and be accepted as a patient with not only the best Dr. In the country, maybe world for the type of tumor i have. Dr. John Boockvar. He believes he can get100% ( other surgery got 50 % of the tumor out,) due to location he feels more is accessible and feels it is important to get as much as possibleof the tumor out instead of standard of care ( which he doesn't like and feels is antiquated). It does come with risks to my left lower extemity and doesnt mean my treatment/ fight will end there( because of the type of tumor but it will help significantly with my overall outcome and then qualify me for other treatments and trials he has access to. Some would ask why didn't first Dr do it? He didn't know looking at MRI or visual what it was so was more conservative. Considering the situation Dr. Boockvar was quite optimistic about things overall for a few reasons. So overall we believe we have a better plan and a better team to care for me. Again thanks for the support. We get emotional every time people drop food off or donate to our fight. So if I or Erica" go off the grid" next week you know why. Will be a busy week. Thanks and love you all The Leslies

Update from Scott

I just wanted to thank you all for the tremendous support we have been getting with the delicious food and donations. I wish we could personally thank everyone individually but please be aware whether you are someone that we see regularly or a complete stranger it is appreciated the same. I started chemo and radiation on Monday and thus far, though still early, doing well except for some left leg balance issues that brought me to the hospital in the first place. Thanks again. I won't quit. Love you all Scott, Erica, Colin and Caden

Hello everyone. We continue to be in awe from the outpouring of love, support, kindness and donations from our friends, family, community and strangers. Scott will start treatment on Monday and have 6 weeks of chemo and radiation and then we wait for a new MRI to see if things change. We cannot express fully our gratitude to everyone and please know that your support continues to push us to fight hard. We wish everyone a wonderful and healthy Thanksgiving. Please hug everyone a little tighter tomorrow and say some prayers for us. Love, Scott, Erica, Colin and Caden
