Favorite Meals or Restaurants
If it possible to deliver your dinner in a disposable container, that would be much appreciated! It may not look as pretty, but gallon ziplocks are great and take away the need to keep track of, and return dishes to their owners!

Thank you so much for caring for our family during this season. We are deeply grateful for every meal, snack, and kind gesture. To support my health and energy levels, we are following a low-glycemic (GI-friendly) way of eating. This simply means choosing foods that keep blood sugar steady and provide long-lasting nourishment. Meals don’t have to be complicated—simple, whole, balanced foods are perfect.
If you’re cooking or dropping off something, the guidelines below will help keep meals aligned with this approach.
GI-Friendly Meal Guidelines
Focus on these foods:
• Lean proteins: chicken, turkey, fish, eggs, tofu, beans, lentils
• Plenty of non-starchy vegetables: leafy greens, broccoli, peppers, zucchini, carrots, etc.
• Healthy fats: olive oil, avocado, nuts, seeds
• Whole fruits (fresh or frozen)
Grains & bread:
• Choose whole grains whenever possible (brown rice, quinoa, farro, barley, oats)
• Whole-grain or sprouted bread
• True sourdough bread is preferred over regular white bread
• Avoid white bread, white rice, and refined flour products when possible
Dairy (if included):
• Plain yogurt, kefir, or cheese are great
• Lower-sugar options are preferred
Things to limit or avoid:
• Sugary desserts, pastries, and sweet drinks
• Refined grains (white bread, regular pasta, white rice)
• Heavy, greasy, or highly processed foods
⸻
Easy Meal Ideas (if helpful)
• Grilled chicken with roasted vegetables and quinoa
• Soup or stew with beans, lentils, or lean meat
• Salad with protein and a simple olive-oil dressing
• Whole-grain or sourdough sandwich with protein and veggies
• Egg-based dishes like frittatas or quiches
They are a large family, so if you're unsure of quantity Aja says best just to double :-)
If you don't have capacity to cook, but want to help out, they have some take out favorite options:
-Top Bop: beef bop or chicken bop
-Papa Murphy's: large cowboy, family sized pepperoni
-Moose's Tooth: avalanche pizza and buffalo chicken salad
-Panda Express: power greens, chow mein, orange chicken, broccoli beef or Beijing beef
-Any Costco premade meals that are easy to adapt to The GI Diet (have pasta, mashed potatoes, etc separated or easy to seperate).
