BAHS Meal Train
Posted Feb 3, 2021 by Cassie Manson of Baraboo Area Homeless Shelter
Thank you for offering to provide a meal for the Baraboo Area Homeless Shelter. We are so thank for your generosity! Below is some information in regards to some frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to call us at 608-356-3069.
When signing up for meals, meal volunteers will need to be aware that all meals must be pre-packaged to the best ability of the volunteer. Staff at the shelter will provide the containers that are needed, and they can be picked up from the shelter (1200 Silver Circle). Please only pick up after you have connected with the shelter director.
3-4 business days prior to your meal routine the shelter director will contact you to verify the following information: what meal you will be bringing, how many clients will be in the shelter/how many meals to bring, how many children/adults, and any dietary restrictions. Staff will then leave all containers and any requested items outside of the shelter on a table to ensure contactless pick up; these items will be inside a Rubbermaid right by the front door. These containers will need to be picked up after you have been contacted by the shelter director.
For the actual meal drop off, all items can be dropped off outside of the shelter for contactless pick up. Preferably, we ask that meals are dropped off by 4pm for the nightly meals. Please make sure that staff are aware that the meal has been dropped off through the intercom system to the main office and please include any directions for meals. Please be aware that we do not have any use of a stove currently, so all meals must be able to be reheated in the microwave if dropped off earlier than 4pm or if dropped off cold. Please also return any containers that are not used, as we have a limited quantity.
If there are any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to the shelter at 609-356-3069.
Thank you again!
