TREMENDOUS THANKS To ALL Individual & Corporate Donors AND Restaurants!

Posted Mar 23, 2021 by Lisa Kieran

For those of you old enough…remember the Carol Burnett song as she wrapped up her shows years ago? “I’m so glad we had this time together….”. Well, we are SO GLAD WE HAD THIS TIME TOGETHER, and our Baylor Covid Heroes and local restaurants are too. The nurses and patient techs blessed by your gracious generosity helped them weather the worst of this Covid-19 pandemic. As Texas DSHS reported via Twitter, vaccinations are reducing new hospitalizations among the high-risk groups and more people are being vaccinated daily. So this last post is a special THANK YOU – every dollar you donated helped make this world a better place by caring about your community. We raised a little over $21,000 and served 2,160 meals from December 1, 2020 to March 18, 2021 along with 1,100 Valentine cookies and 150 Valentine peach cobblers!! Because of YOUR generous donations, we were able to feed ALL the nurses and patient techs for BOTH shifts in the Baylor ER this week! A scrumptious lunch or dinner included either a Reuben or Chicken Caesar wrap, hot soup, and a yummy Chocolate Chip & White Chocolate Macadamia nut Cookie. I WANT - how about you?? And there's MORE! When Greg, one of the owners, spoke with his contact at supplier Ben E. Keith and told them what the food order was for, Ben E. Thanks to YOU, our first two meals are being delivered this week. Tomorrow for second shift, HELLO DUMPLING will be delivering some of their deliciousness. Then on Friday first shift, EL VECINO has a scrumptious menu planned. Stay tuned for pictures tomorrow! And it would really help us if you would share this MealTrain link on your FB page, Instagram, and/or text to friends and family. We have several other restaurants lined up, but need additional funding to schedule them. Together we can do great things! Brett, Kim, Lisa, Susan, and Karen your Baylor MealTrain organizers

Thank you to our founding donors!

Many thanks to our founding donors for getting us started! We have raised $2700 from individual donors in 4 days. This will cover 2 meal deliveries (at $1300 each) and get us started. And we got some great news this morning! SEWELL Automotive is pleased to sponsor a whole meal delivery!! Thank you, SEWELL! Please share this link on your personal FB and Instagram pages! It will help greatly. And if your company is open to sponsoring all or part of a meal delivery, please let me know! Together we can do great things!
